FkN hosts an umbrella stand for Nordic producers at Sunny Side of the Doc, and facilitates co-production and distribution contacts on the international market.

Develop your international network and learn more about the international documentary market at Sunny Side of the Doc - a unique and targeted venue for meetings with documentary professionals on the spot as well as participation in various forums, case studies and screenings in order to understand the market and its latest trends.

The 21st edition of Sunny Side of the Doc takes place in La Rochelle, France, 22-25 June 2010, and main themes will be new narrative styles, rights and funding (summarized under the heading Transmedia), 3D and Documentary, and The Rebel Documentaries.

Apart from this, Sunny Side of the Doc is the place to find financing for your next project. Last June, 1734 participants from 50 countries attended the 20th Sunny Side of the Doc. Among these were 289 Commissioning Editors and International Buyers from 110 different tv channels.

The Best International Projects Showcase

Also Sunny Side of the Doc arranges The Best International Projects Showcase: daily theme-based pitch sessions with key decision makers specialized in each theme. There will be six pitching sessions each presenting six projects within the following categories: History, Science & Environment, Politics & Social Issues, Arts & Culture, the Under 30s Pitch & Cross media content. The deadline for entering your project is 20 April. Projects should be sent to international@sunnysideofthedoc.com.


The Filmkontakt Nord Stand at Sunny Side of the Doc

Filmkontakt Nord will be present and provide an umbrella stand for Nordic documentary producers (i.e. from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Greenland and Faroe Islands). A maximum of 15 production companies can participate at the Filmkontakt Nord stand which will be incorporated into the "European Spot" area.

Furthermore Filmkontakt Nord offers:

Project consultancy regarding your documentary projects in development. FkN guides you to the relevant commissioning editors before the market in order for you to prepare properly and make the most of your participation.

Training sessions especially for the attending Nordic producers. FkN will invite documentary key players to speak at the Filmkontakt Nord stand.

Free additional accreditation (worth 310,96 € French VAT included) for newcomers to the FkN stand. For production companies which have participated under the FkN umbrella before, a second accreditation is available with a 50% discount.
