Ulla Simonen |
With a background in crafts and fine arts, Simonen graduated from the
Lahti Polytechnics Department of Film in 1994. After some years of
freelance editing, she joined the production company Kinotar in 1997.
There she produced mainly documentaries for cinema, among others
acclaimed films by Helke & Suutari, Mika Taanila and in addition,
co-productions such as Cecilia Neant-Falk's DON'T YOU WORRY, IT WILL
PROBABLY PASS and THE FORGOTTEN by Angieszka Lukasiak. Simonen
participated in the first production cycle of Eurodoc 1999-2000.
After seven years in Kinotar, Simonen was in 2004 appointed Production
Consultant for shorts and documentaries at the Promotion Centre for
Audiovisual Culture in Finland (AVEK). Since 1st of July 2008 Simonen
is again an independent producer, working on a freelance basis, but is
also continuing her work as tutor of documentary filmmakers and
producers at various Nordic and European events. |

Cecilia Lidin |
With a background consisting of a Masters Degree in Film and Mass Communication (studies at the University of Copenhagen and University of California, Berkeley) and professional experience from the MEDIA 1 project DOCUMENTARY as well as experience from promoting shorts and documentaries with Filmkontakt Nord, Cecilia Lidin joined the EDN team in 1998. At EDN Cecilia Lidin is responsible for a number of the workshops and seminars organised by EDN, and she functions as a tutor and moderator of film discussions, and conducts courses about documentary filmmaking in Europe. Cecilia is a moderator of pitching sessions at different events such as Docs Barcelona, Lisbon Docs, Propitch France, and Nordisk Forum. Cecilia contributes to DOX magazine reporting from different film-events and reviewing films, and on a daily basis consults EDN members in questions of project development, financing and distribution. Cecilia Lidin has served on numerous juries at film festivals around Europe. Since 2006 also appointed artistic director of Odense International Film Festival. | ||

Jan Rofekamp |
Founded in 1982 by Dutch national Jan Rofekamp, Films Transit International is one of the world's leading international distributors of quality feature length and tv hour documentaries. The films represented by Films Transit usually have epic ( feature length) or urgent ( tv hours) qualities. Films Transit is based in Montreal and has an office in New York. We have done and do some executive producing occasionally. Some of Jan Rofekamp's recent executive producer credits: End of the Century: The Story of The Ramones, Imaginary Witness- Hollywood and the Holocaust, Battle for our Minds and Still Doing It. Jan Rofekamp and Diana Holtzberg ( NYC office) are available for production, distribution and marketing consultancies on an ad hoc basis. Jan Rofekamp was born in Zurich, Switzerland, grew up in Holland where he attended the 4 year production course of The Dutch Film Academy from 1968-1972. He worked in theatrical and non-theatrical distribution from 1972 to 1982, when he moved to Canada, where he founded Films Transit. |
